Location & History

Hilton Nottingham Hotel sits in the city centre next to the main shopping area, with Nottingham Castle a 10-minute walk away. The building is a former railway hotel, retaining high Victorian ceilings that give rooms a spacious feel. Nottingham Railway Station is less than 2 miles from the hotel, and the M1 motorway is 5 miles away, with East Midlands Airport 15 miles from the property.

Rooms & Amenities

All guest rooms include a 43-inch TV, USB point, and air-conditioning, with Deluxe rooms and suites offering bathrobes and slippers. The hotel provides a digital key feature for contactless check-in and room entry, and pet-friendly accommodations are available with specific pet amenities. Compacts double rooms are available, while the King Presidential Suite offers a spacious layout with a separate dining area.

Dining

Bric Bar & Kitchen serves modern British cuisine and cocktails on-site, with a buffet breakfast included in many rates. The breakfast menu includes a gluten-free toaster and fresh poached eggs prepared by a chef. Kids' meals and wine/champagne are available, and room service is offered through the hotel's QR code system.

Wellness & Leisure

Hilton Nottingham Hotel has the largest hotel swimming pool in Nottingham, located in the LivingWell Health Club, which also includes a sauna, steam room, and fully equipped gym. Guests can book beauty treatments such as body scrubs, facials, and massages at the health club. The indoor swimming pool is open year-round, and the fitness centre offers personal trainer sessions and a solarium.

For business travellers, the hotel provides meeting and event facilities that accommodate up to 200 guests, plus a business centre and fax/photocopying services. The family room configuration includes a Family King Room with Sofa Bed, and the hotel offers flexible check-in and check-out options.

“I find that this hotel stands out thanks to its Victorian architecture, setting it apart from many modern establishments. Families, in my opinion, will particularly appreciate the dedicated children's amenities and central location near Nottingham Castle. Its family focus, coupled with practical perks like discounted parking, make it a balanced choice.”

Review summary
Based on recent reviews

Guests consistently appreciate the hotel's prime location in the heart of Nottingham, especially its proximity to the Victoria Shopping Centre and the Theatre Royal Concert Hall. The spacious rooms often feature comfortable beds, with some even offering lofty ceilings reminiscent of its history as a railway hotel. Breakfast is another highlight, with freshly made omelettes being a particular favorite; some guests, however, have mentioned the lack of drawer space in the bedrooms.

Mixed Experience, Some Issues Noted

creaky floorboards noisy room
The breakfast had a good choice of items and the quality was acceptable.
I found the room to be rather noisy. Floorboards creaked loudly from the upper floor, disturbing my sleep. I suggest requesting a top-floor room and bringing ear plugs, particularly if you are a light sleeper.
